We Are Scientists return to the Middle East Downstairs tonight with Brooklyn’s Bear Hands and all-girl band Bad Girlfriend.
Moving Mountains return to the Middle East Upstairs stage tonight with local band Clouds (Hydrahead Records), playing one of their last shows for a while. Brooklyn buzz band Goes Cube and the hard rock of local band Baby Boy H open the show.
Friday and Saturday at the Middle East Upstairs and Downstairs are the Onslaught Birthday Bash series of shows with the finest local talent bridging may genres of music and a guaranteed great time. Richard James, Flash Gordman, Merrimack Delta Dub Set, The Hornitz, and Jackson Wetherbee Band play Downstairs on Friday night. Upstairs on Friday, you can catch Daniel Miller Band, Greenline Inbound, Mars, and Cadrin.
Saturday at the Middle East Downstairs, continue the celebration with all-girl hard rockers Jaded, along with Planetoid (who will be traveling from Outer Space to rock you humans). Sediment, The Hands Off Love Affair, and Aliens open that show. Stoic returns to The Middle East Upstairs Saturday night with Beautiful Pain and View of a Burning City.
The Middle East hosts two stellar all-ages matinee shows this weekend. Local bands Almost Gold, Media Made, Fly Upright Kite, and Small Talk play Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, Brick by Brick Productions presents the return of Bombthemusicindustry!, along with Arizonian band Andrew Jackson Jihad (Asian Man Records). Laura Stevenson and the Cans and The Swaggerin’ Growlers. Open that show. Please note, matinee shows open at 1pm.
Stick around on Sunday for the return of pop / punk / dance band theSTART. Sunday’s show will also feature the Boston debut of Normandie, which is theSTART sans bass player Lance. Opening the show are local band Lindsey Starr & The Chemical Smiles and Y Luv from Los Angeles.
