PROSPECT STREET GRINDING NOTICE

Massachusetts Ave to Somerville Line

Night Work, September 29-October 1

As part of ongoing improvements, the City’s contractor, A. R. Belli, will begin grinding the surface of the roadway on Prospect St on Wednesday, September 29, to prepare the street for paving. In order to minimize traffic disruptions, grinding operations will take place overnight from 8 pm to 5 am, and is expected to be complete by Friday morning, October 1 (weather permitting). Crews will begin at the Massachusetts Ave end of Prospect St and work their way towards the Somerville line.

What to Expect During Grinding Operations

Ø      There cannot be any cars parked on the street during this work.  Please be sure to check “No Parking” signs to avoid being ticketed and towed.

Ø      There will be periodic detours in place as equipment moves along the street.  Signage and police details will be in place to assist, but drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Ø      Paving is tentatively scheduled for Monday, October 4 and Tuesday, October 5.  Crews will pave overnight on both evenings to minimize traffic disruptions.
