Forest City would like to build a fourteen story building for housing next to the fire station at 378 Massachusetts Ave in Central Square. This comes after the Goody Clancy recommended more housing be built in Central Square. The planning board will discuss on May 1st. Hearing notice is pasted below.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Planning Board of the City of Cambridge will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 7:20 p.m. at the Second Floor Meeting Room, at City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, Cambridge, Massachusetts on a zoning petition by Forest City Commercial Group, to amend the Zoning Map by extending the Cambridgeport Revitalization Development District (CRDD) from Green Street to Massachusetts Avenue in the area adjacent to Blanche Street, and to amend Article 15.000 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Cambridge to increase the total allowed development in the CRDD Zoning District and to increase allowed building heights in specific areas of the district north of Green Street.
The petition also proposes other text changes to Article 15.000, including the following substantive changes: changes regarding the applicability of Section 11.200; changes regarding the applicability of Large Project Review procedures and established Design Guidelines; changes regarding the applicability of Section 19.59; and clarification of the applicability of Bicycle Parking requirements.
