Third Annual Cambridge MLK Day of Service Monday, January 21, 2-5 p.m.
Join us in honoring the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 3rd Annual MLK Day of Service Monday, Jan. 21, from 2-5 p.m., beginning with a kickoff on the steps of City Hall (795 Mass. Ave. — Weather Permitting, or otherwise inside City Hall).
Volunteer activities will follow at City Hall and the Citywide Senior Center (806 Mass. Ave). Participate with friends and neighbors on hands-on service projects that will touch the lives of thousands of people in need in Cambridge. Make fleece scarves and blankets for homeless children, teens and adults; make Valentines for shut-in elders and veterans, make activity kits for kids waiting in hospital emergency rooms, make bookmarks for children and adults in literacy programs, sort donated food, children’s books and winter clothing. All ages welcome!
Come for an hour or the entire afternoon. Don’t come empty handed! Please bring ring a can of food, a children’s book or a gently used item of winter clothing.
