Central Square Arts Outdoors August
During August of 2010, arts organizations as diverse as The Cambridge Symphony, Central Square Theater, The Middle East, ImprovBoston and the Dance Center are joining together to support their district with a series of free outdoor summer performances entitled “Central Square Arts Outdoors”. Some of the region’s most prominent and respected arts and entertainment groups are slated to present an act from their arsenal of performers highlighting the truly vibrant and culturally exciting nature of Cambridge’s Central Square. Performances will be held from 4-6 PM in Lafayette Plaza (Jill Brown Park is located at near 401 Mass Ave at the intersection of Columbia Street)
on Thursdays and 4-6 PM on Fridays in Barron Plaza(located at 632 Mass Ave in the Center of the square at Magazine and River Streets) and are supported by The Central Square Business Association, The Cambridge Arts Council, and Cambridge Savings Bank.
According to ImprovBoston Managing Director Dan Binderman, “Central Square is one of the most robust cultural districts one could imagine – yet a lot of the culture goes on inside the walls. For one summer, we’re turning Central inside out. “
